Introductory Meetings on the Implementation of Energy Efficiency Label for AC’s in Oman

In cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Sultanate of Oman and the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO), a workshop has been organized on the application of energy efficiency label for AC’S at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the presence of a number of officials of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Oman and a number of manufacturers, importers and distributors of AC’S.

The workshop discussed the concept of energy efficiency label for AC’S, the types of AC’S applied to them, their objectives, date of application, required documents and the steps to obtain the energy efficiency label for AC’S according to the Omani Gulf standard for energy efficiency requirements and minimum energy efficiency standards for air conditioners (GSO 2530/2016).

The workshop also focused on introducing the electronic platform for issuing energy efficiency label for AC’S, and the electronic platform for identifying the conformity assessment bodies and the conformity assessment bodies that have been appointed, which were worked on in cooperation with the GSO.

What should be mentioned that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry started the electronic system for issuing energy efficiency labels for AC’S during the last period, and a number of energy efficiency labels have been issued to a number of advanced companies to obtain the label.
