GSO Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with ARSO
GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) signed an MoU for technical cooperation with the African Organization for Standardization (ARSO), June 20th, 2019 during the 25th ARSO General Assembly Meetings that took place in in Nairobi, Kenyan.
The signing ceremony was in the presence of ISO President-elect and ISO Secretary-General, and delegations from a number of other international, regional and national organizations such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENCENELC), The Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), African Union (AU), the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS), Standardization Administration of China (SAC), the British Standards Institution (BSI), and others.
The MoU between GSO and ARSO included cooperation in the areas of standardization, conformity assessment procedures and capacity building, which contributes to remove technical barriers in trading and enhance the cooperation at the regional and international levels.
The signing of the MoU comes within the framework of GSO to build bridges of sustainable partnership, open areas of cooperation with regional organizations of standardization, enhance the image of GSO and its presence at the international level to achieve its desired objectives in cooperation with member states.
