GSO organizes the Fourth Gulf Food Week
The activities of the fourth Gulf Food Week, organized remotely by the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO), in conjunction with the occasion of the Gulf Food Safety Day, which is celebrated in June of each year, began on Sunday of this week.
The week’s event includes the meetings of TC05 GSO Technical Committee for Food and Agricultural Products, TC05-SC1 GSO Technical Subcommittee for Food Labels, TC05-SC2 GSO Technical Subcommittee for Additives and Food Contaminants, TC05-SC3 GSO Technical Subcommittee for Organic, Functional and Genetically-modified Food, and the activities conclude with the meeting of TC15 GSO Technical Committee for Halal Products and Services.
More than 140 specialists participate in the activities of this week, representing the members of the Gulf Technical Committees for Food and Halal standards in all member countries, in addition to the participation of representatives from the relevant governmental authorities in the member countries. It is worth noting that GSO has issued 1760 Gulf standards and technical regulations in the food and agricultural sector, out of the total number of 23480 Gulf standards and technical regulations till now.
